Hundreds of patrons line up every day in front of the The Lady and Sons restaurant in Savannah, Ga., for just a glimpse of Paula Deen, but her sons Bobby and Jamie Deen have become stars in their own right. The two brothers grew up in humble circumstances. With only two hundred dollars, the Deens launched a home-based lunch delivery service called The Bag Lady in June 1989. The business model was simple: their mother Paula Deen made the sandwiches, and the boys went out and sold them to local businesses.
Two years later, with The Bag Lady growing too much for a home-based operation, the Deens opened their first restaurant on Savannah's Southside called The Lady.
