While working at WB11 Patrick was busy writing his own column "A Reporter's Notebook" for If that wasn't enough to keep him occupied, he was also teaching a television production class at his alma mater Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.

Patrick began commuting between St. Louis and Los Angeles when he was named anchor of "Pulse" on G4TechTV.
